iOS
1. Open your iPhone settings → General
2. Select Date & Time → Timezone to make sure it's set correctly for your location.
Android
Open your phone's Clock app
Tap More (the three dots in the top right corner) → Settings:
- to pick your home timezone: tap Home timezone,
- to enable automatic timezone updates: tap Change date & time and enable Set timezone automatically.
My timezone is correct. Why is the position of the Moon different in Moonly?
If the Moon's position shown in Moonly differs from other sources, don't worry — the information provided in Moonly is accurate 🙏
All astrological systems can be divided into the Western and the Vedic branches. We kindly inform you that we use the Vedic astrology Jyotish and Sidereal zodiac for our calculations.
Vedic astrology takes into account the precession of the Earth's axis. Western astrology does not take into account that shift and considers the vernal equinox to be the starting point for the signs of the zodiac, so the calculations have a margin of error.
Therefore, the Vedic Sidereal zodiac shows the current position of the planets of the solar system and allows you to make more accurate calculations. If you're interested in observing the Moon's position in real-time, we recommend visiting the online planetarium at stellarium-web.org, where you can track celestial bodies as they move across the sky.
Rest assured, the Moonly app is showing the most accurate and up-to-date positions according to Vedic astrology. If you have any further questions, Feel free to contact us through the Support section in the app or via e-mail at [email protected] ✨
