Swords. Represent thoughts, plans, and assessments, which are more intellectual in nature. Papus saw them as symbolic of Earth, grounding the mind's work in practical, material reality.
Pentacles. Instead of being associated with Earth (as in many traditions), Pentacles in the Papus school are linked to Air, symbolizing the flow of energy, ideas, and the manifestation of the spiritual realm into material form.
